*sigh* The only thing I wanted for Christmas I will be getting, but not until after Christmas I'm afraid.
I spent most of the day on my back under my CUCV in the snow. It turns out I'll be getting myself a $800 present, ie a new rear axle. After that I'm still looking at $2-400 in labor for the rest of the project of getting it up and running. Assuming there's nothing else wrong that I don't know about.
I realy feel bad about spending money on anything but my loved ones this time of year.
Oh and for all the Fyr's in the crowd. After reading Chamberlain's accounts, I must say he truely was a both a brilliant man and a romantic idealist. I think we would have gotton along well.
